Santa's Attic Sale - Letter

Dear Women of Saint Edward’s,

This year, we will be continuing the wonderful "Santa's Attic Sale" project which we began in 2010 - this has turned out to be a great way to raise funds for our charity work. Each year, at the end of the Christmas season, we collect gently used or new Christmas decorative items for inside and outside the home. Due to the overwhelming, and we do mean overwhelming, generosity of our parish, we are in the excellent position of having an exciting and unusual array of beautiful decorative Christmas items for the home.

These blessings come with a dilemma. We have so many great donations that our usual small core of workers will not be sufficient to make the sale - this year on November 5th - successful. We need a small army of elves (male and female) to handle the various decorative areas (santas, angels, snowmen, nutcrackers, etc. – see Santa's Attic Sale - More Info » for a complete list), price the items that we did not get to on collection day and arrange them on tables for the sale. On sale day we need lots of elves - again male and female - to keep the tables stocked and help people find what they are looking for. At the end of the day we need more elves to help box up the unsold items for donation to Saint Vincent de Paul.

It is a lot of work but with a lot of elves we can have a lot of fun.

If you are interested and excited about this new fundraiser, please come to our organizational meeting at St. Ed's on Monday, August 15th at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Bring your husbands, as we need lots of help! At this meeting, we will go over job and task descriptions as well as map out a work schedule. Some of these details are posted on our web site (see Santa's Attic Sale - More Info ») but they are subject to change. We would like to hear your ideas and implement them into our existing plan, so please plan on attending this meeting.
